Complete Beginner Guide

Everything you need to know to play your first Outlaster game — from team selection through the finale jury vote.

Getting Started

When you join Outlaster, you are placed on a random map with 10+ players. The game follows a Survivor-style format: compete in challenges, explore camp, and vote out players until one winner remains.

Team Selection

Players vote for team captains, who then pick teammates. Be active in chat during this phase — captains prefer players who communicate. If not picked, you are assigned randomly.

Competition Phase

Each round starts with a challenge. Pre-merge challenges are team-based — your team needs enough points to win immunity. Losing teams send members to Elimination. Winning grants Cash and safety from votes.

Elimination Phase

During Elimination, players on losing teams vote secretly to eliminate one member. The player with the most votes is eliminated unless they play a Safety Advantage or receive a Last Chance.

Camp Time

Between challenges and eliminations, use camp time to hunt for advantage scrolls, fish for Cash, and build alliances. This social time is as important as winning challenges.

Merge and Finale

When teams dissolve (the merge), all remaining players compete individually. Everyone attends every Elimination. At the final stages, eliminated players form the Jury and vote for the winner based on social gameplay, challenge wins, and bonus categories.

FAQ

Can you win without winning challenges?
Yes. Strong social alliances and jury management can win even with fewer challenge wins.
What happens when you are voted out?
You enter Redemption (at merge and final six) or become a Jury member who votes in the finale.
